METTIS AEROSPACE LIMITED HAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED ITS AS9100 CERTIFICATION AUDIT

Mettis Aerospace Limited has successfully completed its AS9100 certification audit. AS9100 is the international aerospace quality standard that is based on ISO9001-2000, but additionally includes more detailed and strict requirements in order to provide the additional controls required by the aerospace industry we serve. AS9100 is required by some of the major players within the aerospace industry, specifically Boeing, with other customers expected to also mandate the transition to AS9100 in the near future.

The LRQA auditor has noted the following strong points in his assessment summary: -

• Comprehensive contract review process in place to confirm customer requirements are reviewed prior to tender and after receipt of order. All interested parties involved.
  
• Verification of purchased raw material against purchasing requirements with good records to support Alloy Forge.
  
• Material traceability system both up and down fully visible.
  
• Machining Division Visual Manufacturing Tool provides full visibility of production planning operations including change control, and has faculty for configuration control, the system provides detailed routing cards which are utilised by production.
  
• Effective records keeping system for all aspects of the business - evidence sampled during this audit.
