Corporate Responsibility

We care about the environment, our people and local community

Caring for the environment

We are committed to continually enhancing our environmental performance with a focus on lowering energy and water consumption, reducing waste and protecting our local environment.

Most of our packaging and wooden pallets are returned after delivery so we can reuse them and we are working toward a target of recycling 70% of our waste.

There is a lake on our site which is home to a variety of wildlife. We take care of it and have a rest area nearby where employees can enjoy the view during their breaks. We also provide a ‘bike to work’ scheme for employees. It enables them to purchase a bike cost effectively, encouraging cycling to work.

We also support organisations/initiatives which support the local environment each year.

Caring for our people

People are the heart of our business and creating an environment in which they can thrive is important to us. We want everyone to reach their full potential.

Health and safety is a crucial part of our culture at every level. We have robust policies, procedures and measures in place to protect both our people and local area.

We also have an occupational health facility on site and have a benefits scheme which has options for employees to access a variety of wellness services.

Caring for our community

We are proud to be based in the Midlands and to be the largest employer in Redditch. Many of our employees live in the town and we encourage them to get involved in the community. We also run occasional open days so people can learn more about what we do.

In addition, our employees inspire pupils at local schools through the Engineering Education Scheme. One of the groups we worked with came up with such a great efficiency idea that we’re currently in the process of adopting it.

We are passionate about supporting good causes. Our employees put forward ideas for local charities based in Redditch or Bromsgrove which they would like to support and, from this list, a partner charity is then chosen for eighteen months.

This approach ensures we support a cause all our people want to get behind, build up a meaningful relationship with the charity and can make more of a difference together.

For this reason, our donations and fundraising activities are generally only carried out in aid of our partner charity. Everything is coordinated by our social committee, a passionate group of employees from across our company who organise themed events, activities, raffles, quiz nights and more throughout the partnership period and get people involved.

Occasionally, if the majority of employees express an interest in supporting large, national events such as Macmillan coffee mornings, Children in Need and Red Nose Day, we will also support these events. In addition, from time to time, we may carry out small fundraising activities at the request of employees who have benefitted from the support of local charities or causes and would like to give something back in return.

As all our fundraising is led by our employees, unfortunately, we cannot accept unsolicited requests for donations or other charitable support.
