Mettis Aerospace wins BVCA Award
The award for 2018’s best Mid-Market Management Team in the Midlands was presented to Mettis by the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA), a UK trade body, at a celebratory event in Birmingham on 17th May.
The BVCA has been running these prestigious awards for almost a decade in its quest to recognise the best businesses backed by private equity and venture capital. This year, five businesses received awards for outstanding performance in each of the region’s categories.
Mettis CEO, Gordon Fraser, said: “We were delighted to accept this great accolade at The BVCA’s Management Team Awards event and to hear that the judges were impressed by our vision, culture and the way we’ve executed our growth plans even though the environment has been challenging.”
We’re committed to growing Mettis even further. We’re in the advanced stages of a £25 million investment programme designed to enhance our facilities in Redditch, Birmingham, in response to the growing number of orders we’ve received from leading aerospace customers around the world. For example, we’ve invested in new capabilities and we recently took delivery of one of the most powerful presses in the UK. We’ve led the development of new technologies including the first 3D scanner in the country which can distinguish between parts which look identical and have created a state-of-the art testing facility. This is all part of our mission to expand our global reach from our hub at the heart of the Midlands.
Mettis will now be entered into the BVCA’s national final to compete against other regions. The UK winners will be announced at an event in London on 29th November.
