CNC Machininst

Profile

 This position will report to the HOB, Process Leader and Team Leader and will be responsible for set-up, operation and oversight of CNC Machines for production of complex aerospace components.

Scope and Responsibilities

  •  To operate various machines in Machining Cell
  •  Operation of CNC centres (Fanuc or Mazatrol Controls)
  • Set up to 1st condition and changeovers
  • Set up and operate Manual Vertical / Horizontal Lathes
  • Set up fixtures, tooling and programmes
  • Run machines as per SOPs and instructions
  • Quality Control, measurements and inspection of parts
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Loading and unloading of CNC machine tool
  • Modification of tool offsets
  • Tool changing and fixture changing
  • Basic understanding of CNC machining work and tool offsets
  • Experience of programming desirable
  • EHS PPE adherence

 Experience

  • Previous CNC operator/setter experience
  • Fanuc and Mazatrol control experience

 Key Technical / Professional Competencies

  • Previous use of inspection equipment.
  • Quality/inspection awareness and understanding is essential.
  • Flexibility due to work demands will be required.
  • Good dexterity and manual skills
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy is required as the training and quality standards are very in depth and specific.
  • Fork lift truck licence preferable
  • Hands on with can do attitude

  • Participate in risk assessment and “near miss” risk mitigation activities
