About the Role

The Quality & Export Administrator plays a key role within the Test & Release department, supporting the accurate and compliant release of product to customers worldwide. This position is responsible for reviewing quality documentation, interpreting internal procedures and customer specifications, and producing high‑quality test, release, and export documentation to support timely product dispatch.

The role requires exceptional attention to detail, significant administrative capability, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, customers, and external logistics partners. Operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will balance multiple priorities while ensuring standards of compliance, accuracy, and customer service remain consistently high.

As a condition of employment successful candidates are required to satisfy ITAR (International Traffic In Arms Regulations) compliance and must fulfil the following before commencing this role:
i. Currently hold the legal Right to Work in the UK
ii. Fulfil a DBS clearance
iii. Provide a consistent 5-year UK domicile
iv. Pass Drugs & Alcohol screening at the start of their Mettis employment

 

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

Review customer order information using the internal database system

Verify product compliance against internal quality standards, contractual requirements, and customer specifications

Generate, review, and approve test, release, and certification documentation to support product dispatch

Prepare and process all export documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists) in alignment with legal, regulatory, and country-specific requirements

Coordinate outbound export schedules to ensure customer delivery requirements are met

Liaise with freight forwarders, transport providers, external service partners, and customers to manage all aspects of shipment and logistics

Maintain accurate records and perform general administrative duties including archiving, scanning, filing, and document control

Safety Responsibilities

Comply with EHS and legislative standards at all times

Adhere to PPE requirements and safety policy guidelines

Support occupational health requirements and promote safe working practices

Engage in risk assessments and assist in the identification and mitigation of “near miss” risks

Quality Responsibilities

Support the accurate flow and maintenance of quality-related documentation.

Ensure all release and export documentation meets internal and customer-specific requirements

Maintain compliance with Mettis Quality Instructions, SOPs, and associated procedures

Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting error reduction and process accuracy

Delivery Responsibilities

Ensure timely production of test, release, and export paperwork to support dispatch schedules

Coordinate with Test & Release, Operations, and Logistics teams to maintain shipment flow

Provide accurate documentation to avoid delays in transportation or customs clearance

Cost Responsibilities

Support process effectiveness to minimise rework or delays caused by documentation errors

Maintain efficient administrative processes that reduce time and resource waste

People Responsibilities

Build trusted working relationships with internal teams and external partners

Communicate clearly and professionally at all levels

Uphold Mettis values and contribute positively to team culture

Comply with all HR policies and procedures

Qualifications

Essential

Proven administrative experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred

Experience working with quality documentation and/or export administration

Knowledge of logistics processes, export regulations, or commercial documentation

Required Skills

Organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Excellent communication and customer service capability, with confidence engaging at all business levels

Methodical, detail-oriented approach with a high degree of accuracy

Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and sound decision-making
